Discovering OpenSilver
Web applications development going beyond HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Leggi in Italiano

OpenSilver is a framework (successor to Silverlight) for creating web applications, hosted in browsers and running on a variety of operating systems and devices, from standard PCs to tablets and smartphones.
It offers a richer development ecosystem than the traditional combination of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, allowing you to create applications with interactive graphics, vector animations, embedded videos, and so on, simply by designing the user interface with XAML and programming the logic with code written in C# (or other .NET languages), similar to programming in Microsoft WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation), but targeted at the browser rather than the desktop.
I had already become interested in these technologies when Silverlight was released in 2007; now that this type of programming is re-born back in an open-source version, I decided to write a book that would provide a simple yet in-depth guide for all programmers who want to approach web development without using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and leveraging the skills acquired in the .NET environment.
Ideal for those who want a step-by-step guide, this manual is full of practical, ready-to-use examples.
